Back up and sync is a storage service that automatically saves your photos and videos to your Google Account. These photos and videos will exist attainable from any device where you lot are logged into your account.

What you lot need to back up photos & videos

  • Good cyberspace connectedness.
  • File sizes that can be backed up.  Your files won't be backed up if they are:
    • Photos larger than 200 MB or 150 MP
    • Videos larger than x GB.
    • Items smaller than 256 x 256.

    • Photos: .jpg, .heic, .png, .webp, .gif, and some RAW files.

There are 2 means to back upwardly your telephone, camera, or storage card from your estimator:

  2. Upload photos from your browser.

Ready Google Drive for desktop

  1. On your computer, download and install Google Drive for Desktop.
  2. Sign in to your Google Account.
  3. Select the folders or pictures you desire to back up and thenBack up to Google Photos.
  4. Select Washed and thenSave.

  • If you remove a photograph or video from your reckoner that you previously backed upward to Google Photos, it stays in Google Photos.
  • If y'all remove a photo or video from Google Photos, it isn't removed from Google Drive or your calculator.

If you already take Fill-in and Sync for Drive

Backup and Sync is now Google Drive for desktop.

Select a different upload size

You can change the upload size for photos and videos backed upwardly to Google Photos from your calculator.

Important: You tin't alter the upload size for files synced with Google Drive.

Support your Apple tree Photo Library (Mac only)

If your reckoner runs macOS, you can back upward your Organization Photo Library to Google Photos.

Tips:

  • If you have more one Apple Photos Library, just the System Photo Library will be backed upwardly. Yous can use Apple Photos to change the System Photo Library.
  • If your Apple Photo Library is synced with iCloud, all photos and videos in your library and cloud will be backed up to Google Photos on macOS 10.fifteen and higher up.

Upload items to Google Photos from your browser

  1. On your calculator, open photos.google.com.
  2. At the pinnacle right, click Upload and thenComputer.
  3. Find and select your photos.
  4. Click Open up.

You can also drag photos from your estimator to the album to upload them to Google Photos. If you drag a photo to a specific anthology, the photo will exist uploaded to that anthology.
